Invasive Procedures

Invasive procedures can be of 2 types.

Diagnostic – Amniocentesis, Chorionic villus sampling

Therapeutic – Amniodrainage, Fetal Reduction, Fetal therapy etc.

 

Diagnostic invasive procedures are the confirmatory tests for couples with positive screening test results. Hence, they are very important for the couple to take an informed decision.

The invasive procedures carry a risk of miscarriage of 1 in 1000, hence they require a lot of skill and precision.
