Pre Pregnancy Care – ACOG Guidelines

Seek medical care prior to conception to monitor for any medical conditions that require treatment modification and to aid in correct dating
All medications should be reviewed to determine safety
Vaccines should be received as per schedule
Assess need for screening for sexually transmissible infections
Screen for intimate partner violence and substance abuse
Pre pregnancy folic acid supplementation and vitamins should be advised.
Screening for genetic conditions when required
